Gwen Benaway on the Ontario PC Party’s resolution to debate the validity of gender identity

Today is Trans Day of Remembrance/Resilience. Over the weekend the Ontario PC Party voted in favour of a resolution that would, once again, make trans existence the subject of debate, and describing gender identity as both a “theory” and a “liberal ideology”. Gwen Benaway has crafted a brilliant response outlining the many impacts of the ongoing attacks against trans people’s rights, existence, and humanity.

Gwen Benaway will be a special guest at the Toronto book launch for Joshua Whitehead’s Jonny Appleseed on December 10th, 7pm at the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto.
