Resources at the University of Toronto

Positive Space Campaign
The University’s Positive Space Campaign is a groundbreaking program that identifies safer and more inclusive spaces for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, intersexed, queer, questioning and Two-Spirited (LGBTTIQQ2S) students, staff, faculty, alumni at the University of Toronto.

Women and Gender Studies Institute
For the past 40 years, WGSI has trained students to think about the entanglements of gender, race and sexuality. Our teaching and research is distinctive for its transnational feminist approach, critically addressing how national borders, colonialisms, labour, and migration shape life, knowledge, and politics.

LGBTOUT is a volunteer-run student group that exists to enrich the experience of all students at UofT and especially those students who identify as queer and/or trans. As a student group composed of historically marginalized peoples, LGBTOUT will work towards the development of a more equitable and inclusive atmosphere at UofT.

Sexual & Gender Diversity Office
The Sexual & Gender Diversity Office (SGDO) develops partnerships to build supportive learning and working communities at the University of Toronto by working towards equity and challenging discrimination. The Office provides innovative education, programming, resources and advocacy on sexual and gender diversity for students, staff and faculty across the University’s three campuses.

The Centre for Women and Trans People
The Centre for Women and Trans People is committed to providing a safe, harassment-free drop in space for all women and trans people on campus. We provide free support, referrals, resources and advocacy on issues of sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, ageism, violence, health and poverty through our workshops, events, services and programming.
