La Maupin: A Lecture Recital
SDS graduate student and QTRL graduate dissertation completion award recipient Camille Rogers is hosting their recital at the end of the month.
La Maupin: A Lecture Recital tells the fantastical life story of genderqueer opera singer Julie d’Aubigny-Maupin (1670-1707), featuring the world premiere of La Maupin, a solo cantata by Canadian composer Colin McMahon.

The duration of the programme is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, including a 10-minute intermission halfway through.
The performance contains simulated gunshot and mentions of homophobia, transphobia, self-harm, attempted suicide, memory loss, illness, death, and violence.
