Sex Salon Speaker Series Call for Organizing Committee 2022-23

The Sex Salon Series, housed at the Mark S. Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies at the University of Toronto, seeks members for its 2022 – 2023 Organizing Committee! The Sex Salon is a space to exchange ideas, make art and community, and create dialogue around queerness, queer theory, LGBTQI+ organizing, and the development and advancement of critical sexuality studies. The Sex Salon is a monthly event series hosting eight events between September 2022 to May 2023. This year will be a hybrid model of in person and online events that will tawill take place on the last Wednesday of every month  

Upper-year Undergraduate, Graduate, and Faculty from any University of Toronto department as well as those outside the academy are welcome to apply. We are seeking participation from a diverse and broad range of disciplines, training, and departments. We also seek individuals who have experience in managing social media accounts and/or creating digital media.  

The Organizing Committee will receive proposals and help curate the monthly Sex Salon events for 2022/2023. Members will attend a planning session in early September and are encouraged to support and participate in the monthly Sex Salon. Committee members have the opportunity and are encouraged to moderate and/or organize one of the Sex Salon events.

Alternative forms of CV, such as social media profiles, digital portfolios, and websites are also welcome. Your email should include your area of study, research interests, experience in community-based organizing, activism, and/or academic background.
