SDSSU Elections 2020-21
Are you looking to get involved in the Sexual Diversity Studies community this year? Do you want to help organize events related to Sexual Diversity Studies, academic success, and community? Submit a candidate statement now to the Sexual Diversity Studies Student Union elections!
The Sexual Diversity Studies Union represents the student population at the Mark S. Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies and helps create community and academic success within the program. We’re looking for students from all years of study to fill the following positions:
President – The president will be responsible for envisioning the direction and future of the SDSSU, representing the SDSSU at events and activities, and managing all administrative duties outside those performed by other Exec Members.
Outreach and Student Development Coordinator – The Outreach and Student Development Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating academic success of SDS students and connecting the SDSSU with other students and relevant clubs/student unions.
Events Coordinator – This Events Coordinator will be responsible for planning and operating student events for the SDSSU.
Secretary – The Secretary will be responsible for scheduling general meetings, booking rooms, taking minutes during meetings, and making records available to the SDSSU.
Treasurer – The Treasurer will be responsible for maintaining all records and receipts pertaining to the finances of SDSSU and creating and reporting on an annual budget.
To run for a position, submit your name, pronouns, programs of study, year, and intended position along with 1-2 paragraphs describing who you are, why you want this position, and what you would bring to the position to sdsstudentunion@gmail.com by September 25th. All candidate statements will be posted online and voted on in an online election occurring on September 28th.
Note: to run for a position on the SDSSU exec you must be currently enrolled in an SDS course or SDS cross-listed course or enrolled in the SDS program.
