What does it mean to find rest in these chaotic times? How can our rest become a part of revolutionary self-love and community care? Join Kai Cheng Thom and the Mark S Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies for this free 6-week wellness course based on somatics, restorative yoga, and yoga nidra (yogic sleep meditation) as well as discussion and community building. Together we will explore the potential of rest and restorative practices to improve health, support trauma healing, and reclaim the body from the effects of social oppression. These gentle, highly accessible practices are an excellent entry point for new practitioners, as well as an opportunity for experienced meditators/somatics practitioners to deepen their practice.

*Participants will need a quiet, comfortable place to lie down. Props such as pillows, blankets, and/or yoga blocks/bolsters are encouraged.

Registration is first-come first-served; 5 spots are reserved for community members who are not UofT students. University of Toronto students, please register using your utoronto emails and select the appropriate registration option. The workshops will have automated captions.
