Founder and President, Association Management International
Peter became politically active at an early age and was a Campaign Manager before he was old enough to vote. He subsequently served as Co-Chair of the Ontario New Democratic Party Youth and was a founding member of the first ever LGBT Committee of any political party in Canada in 1976. From 1978 to 1981 he served in the NDP Leaders’ Office at Queen’s Park.
In 1981 he enrolled at U of T where he continued his activism leading the NDP to victory in the Model Parliament elections and serving at a Vic Rep on SAC, where he also served on the Executive Committee.
Peter’s career in association management began in 1984 with a variety of roles with the Ontario Association, including the 2-I-C position. In 1990 he was named Executive Director of the Ontario Chiropractic Association and in 1996 was appointed Executive Director of the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario.
In 1998 he established Association Management International, a firm providing administrative and management support to associations. His current clients include the Pension Investment Association of Canada, the Canadian Bond Investors’ Association, the Canadian Network of National Associtions of Regulators and HAE Canada.
Peter has been a member of the SDS Advisory Board since its creation and was recognized for his contributions to U of T with an Arbor Award in 2008. He became Chair of the Advisory Board in 2009.
